Seaside villages. From the mountains to the mild north coast of Abruzzo
Starting from Ceppo and passing through the SP49 state road, you can reach the magnificent seaside village of Martinsicuro , characterized by a mild climate, sandy beaches and crystal clear sea. You can stroll along the shoreline shaded by exotic palm trees, enjoying an artisanal ice cream from the kiosks and ice cream parlors typical of the area or dive into the turquoise sea to let yourself be lulled by the waves, swimming or practicing water sports. Martinsicuro also offers a beautiful historic center which with its sixteenth-century tower dominates the coast from above. The Torrione di Carlo V houses historical artifacts dating back to the prehistoric age found in the early nineties.
A few minutes from Martinsicuro we find another seaside resort much loved by tourists, Alba Adriatica. Known as the Silver Beach, Alba Adriatica has a coastline that stretches for 3 kilometers, characterized by fine sand with silvery reflections and a limpid and crystalline sea, an ideal place for those who want to relax and enjoy a mild and sunny climate.
The coast of Alba Adriatica is full of accommodation facilities where you can taste the food and wine recipes typical of a seaside place, such as spaghetti with clams, fried fish, broths and many other delicacies that will immerse you in a sea of perfumes unique and delicious.
For history lovers, the Torre della Vibrata is interesting, which was built in 1568 to defend the territory from Saracen pirates.
Along the Via Colle Bianco road, we continue along the coast and arrive in Tortoreto , a town that amazes for its coastal beauty and its hinterland rich in history, art, culture and naturalistic beauties.
Tortoreto is famous for its long coastline, its sandy beach and golden, the turquoise sea and the cool and shady pine forest of Tortoreto Lido, where tourists and swimmers seek refreshment after a day spent in the hot summer sun and diving into the crystal clear sea. Going up from the coast towards the city center of Tortoreto, that is towards Tortoreto Alta, we can admire the Clock Tower, characterized by a Gothic arch and its clock, which dominates the historic center and the medieval village along the entire Tortoreto coast. After wandering through the stone streets of Tortoreto Alta and admiring its precious architectural works, you can enjoy a moment of relaxation admiring the breathtaking panorama that extends along the Teramo coast from the beautiful Belvedere of Tortoreto Alta.
Finally, to finish the tour of these coastal villages, take the Via Panoramica which in just 14 minutes takes us to Giulianova, an Abruzzo city full of naturalistic itineraries, soft golden beaches and the turquoise sea. Not only that, in Giulianova you can walk among the green hills and reach the mountains of the Gran Sasso which guard national parks among the most beautiful in the country.
